
About Sonny Walebowa
Sonny is a devoted husband and father. An entrepreneur, Sonny Walebowa is a native of Botswana, a small but influential country in the southern region of Africa. There, Sonny began writing stories and poetry in both English and his national language, Setswana. He moved to the United States in 1997 on a scholarship. He earned a degree in Film and Television Production from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, later earning a Masters degree in Human Services and Executive Leadership from Liberty University.
After writing, directing, and producing shorts, commercials, music videos and documentaries in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sonny moved to Los Angeles, where he completed an internship with Arista Records and worked in music marketing, sales and A&R. He also freelanced in production, acting, and film trailer distribution. He later returned to Northern California where he works as a web and TV broadcast editor and multi-media producer.
In addition to authoring juvenile fiction and screenplays, Sonny has written a biography on Nelson Mandela for the juvenile market which includes an epic poem. This biography includes and audio book and is bilingual. He has also penned two poetry books.
